When Rylee got home yesterday I said, “Hey- do you feel like some pictures? I feel like some.” She was up for it. Then someone came to the door. And she was up for it too.

A Must See Movie

Everyone should watch The Family Stone this Christmas season. It has become one of my all time favorites. The story is thought provoking, tender, real and inspiring. For me the biggest reason I love the movie is because all over the walls of the home, or set if you will, there are black and white photographs. The writer wants you to feel that the family took very good care to document their years together and see their closeness. One photograph in particular and the way it was given as a gift is extremely powerful, hence this post. I guess you will have to watch the movie to see why I became inspired to write this.

Photographs are the most important thing we have. When someone dies, what do we do first? We look for their photos. And we hold onto them forever. It’s all we have left. We pass them down. Memories in our minds and photos to see and touch, and kiss, like I do.

This is my grandfather in 2009. His last Christmas with us. He knew exactly why I took this picture. It shows in his eyes.

When I showed this one to him. He said, “That’s a good one.” I will hold onto that.

We miss you Daddy Ralph. But we know you are right here with us all.

They Grow Like Weeds…..

and if you have been following this little one, you will see it is true. She is unstoppable. Doing so much that is not typical for six months. No big surprise at all, this is the way she has been since birth. Curious, strong-willed, smart, friendly, sure of herself. And I feel that she knows who I am now, which is of great benefit to me. She looks right at the lens and listens to my voice. We have made a “connection,” something that is crucial to great photographs.

The most important part of this was great grandmother being there for a visit. Not planned. And at the end of the “real” pictures, I took some very precious shots. She is a beautiful woman and I can tell she was quite the looker in her younger days. I miss my grandmothers so being around her was a treat.

The best shots always come at the end, just the way it goes.

God-thank you for allowing me to do this. It brings me pure JOY.

Anchorage Trail has proven to be one of the absolute BEST spots in Louisville to photograph. Whether it’s children and families or nature and landscapes, it has it all. When I hit it big, or win the lottery, sure hope one of those is in my deck of cards, I will be buying a home in Anchorage, Kentucky. A dynamite place in our area.

This cutie pie and her white dress were perfect for the location. She does very well with the camera.Take a looky for yourself.

Love my job! I am a lucky girl.

I had an absolute blast with this young, ambitious and happy family. Baby N was not feeling so good. Some teeth decided to invade our time together. A very easy-going little boy, even with teething pain.

I am lucky to be able to do what I do. Never thought in a million years that this would have come my way- a wonderful opportunity. I am truly blessed.

Anyway… here is our story. Well… it’s my story, their lives.

Grandma, who was an art teacher, hand-painted all sorts of aircraft on the walls in Nolan’s bedroom. Very impressive and playful.

This toy plane is too cool. Just look at that sweet face.

Mom loves her boy.

They tell me he is happy like this all of the time. What a joy!

Off to Bowman Field for our trip to Rough River. From start to finish…..

Taking off. The weather was terrific. The color shots are great too, but the black and whites do it for me.

I would fly in this plane over a big one any day. Shelby is a terrific pilot. And Katie may learn too someday.

Love these! I used a 16-35mm 2.8 wide angle, shot at 16mm. Fun lens to play with.

What a team Shelby and Katie make together. Can’t wait to see what is in store for them. They have a lot to be thankful for and excited about. Thanks for letting me into your world. It was something I will never forget!

More Of The Twins And Their Cute Lil Brother

It’s very hard to know who is who and which is which. I asked if they try to trick anyone yet and they do, their soccer coach. One wears red, the other blue. And James, I think, his hair is a bit longer.

Carter, I am fairly sure, haha.

And James. If I am incorrect, Mom will let me know.

I have no clue who’s feet are who’s.

And last but not least: Baby Nathan and his mommy

He is the sweetest thing. A total lover! When I asked if they were going to have more, she said they have talked about it. Why the heck not, what’s one, or two, more?? Question really is, what happens if there are twins again? OH MY!!
